Smilingjack_2British Jack.

I just finished reading the history of Jack-o'-Lantern from http://www.inventhelp.com/Halloween-Inventions.asp.  And I thought... if the British conquered the Philippines, my little nieces (Jem and Yeyet) and nephew (Jay-Jay), and probably my two dogs (Eeruh and Dolly Yen) as well, would have been roaming the streets by now, joining the...

HalloweenkidsCostume Party.

Kids are afraid of ghosts in the dark, monsters under their beds, witches in the woods, etc.  For one, Leah's little boy, Mark, hides whenever he sees a scary face flash on their flat screen.  Some may even cry for their mothers.  Others would have nightmares, like me when I was a child.  I believe it is a natural reaction to ("unusual") ugliness, especially to children.  They either get suddenly surprised or totally scared.  But what a change when it is October!  They are somewhat eager to see anything paranormal and be dressed as one as they look forward to the "party" on...

CandycornThe 31st Night.

The positive thing about trick-or-treating is that kids look at supernatural beings as something fun instead of fearful.  It gives them a general idea that Halloween means CANDY time.  How they enjoy wearing ugly masks and donning weird cloaks!  The ugliest or the weirdest, the better.  I begin to think that if kids would consider everyday as halloween, then they would not be scared...

Questionmark Anymore.

            Hey, anymore thoughts about Halloween?
