From Downtown LA to Century City and all the way to those magnificent southern/western beaches, our streets are teeming with a variety of clothing style. It is so diverse that you get confused on what the real trend is. Well, let us sort that out by groups...
There are these skinny-jeans-clad youngsters who seem to complete their getup with baseball caps, pocket chains and skateboards. This, I believe, is more evident in busy (eastern) streets where teenage groupies thrive. There is also this popular generation of (southern) "hiphoppers" who show off that classic plumber style. The funny thing is they do not have to bend over to show their boxers (or whatever underwear they have on). I say, they get extra savings for not having to buy belts. Moving onto the "season-savvy" dressers, there are these real fashion-conscious individuals who fill their closets with every season's trend. Sure, they have fashion magazine subscriptions. If not, they probably pattern their entire outfit from a store mannequin. It sure is another funny thing as I almost did that myself. And how about the ever sophisticated "metrosexuals"? You can find most of them in that (western) area where hip restaurants wake the night. You can spot one by just looking at their fine set of pearly whites and smelling the sweet scent they leave in the air. Not to mention, their costly pedicure art.
I am certainly amused by all these - color, style and overall variation. These things, which make Los Angeles a melting pot of fashion sundry, are also indicative of the city's artistically diverse people. Then again, if you ask what the real trend is, it is whichever your eyes draw attention to.
