Before and after: Getting rid of some details by vintage effect

It was spontaneous - a moment I always like to capture... I had Mommy L stand by a tree to shade her and Baby J from the rather harsh 1pm-light.  Against those vast greens, the young mother held her son and it was such a delight to see.  It was like hearing It's You And Me Against The World by Helen Reddy.  Do you know the song?  It's playing...

My camera bursted as I crouched down then up to frame my images well.  I was trying to be comfortable with what I was doing.  But then I felt a little bit rushed because they had to go back to the party.  It was Baby J's 1st birthday.

I looked at my Canon LCD and said in my mind, I love this shot . . . except for that one little detail...

The composition, to me, would have been perfect except for that dang tree!  It was sprouting out of Little J's back.  So annoying, I hated it!  Mom L did not mind though.  But I said, I can fix it . . . and I did, didn't I?

Some overexposing to that part did the trick. Then, giving the photo a vintage effect was my excuse to the fading background. This old photo texture was a good find...  Thanks, Temari 09, for sharing your antique paper!

Hello, Daddy?

Sophia 5/365: Hello, Daddy?

We never had a landline because it was really useless to us. But last Saturday, hubby had it installed and Sophia always wants her hands on it. Whenever she picks it up, she says hello to her new daddy, Mr. Ringtone.

Just imagine - I have never EVER cut her nails since last year. The funny point of view is that I don't have to nail-groom her weekly. But it does concern me. It is not pretty!

I'm humgry for skappetti

Jitterbug... Jitterbug...

It was past 11pm last night. Hubby and I were getting ready to sleep when Sophia woke up and said, "I'm humgry." Yes, she said humgry with an M in the middle. I was like, "Oh, jitters! You don't know what hungry is! I heat up food for you but don't wanna eat it. What you want is tv." Even when she's full, she'd say I'm humgry. I wasn't really sure last night if she was; but still I asked her if she wanted cookies or spaghetti. She said yes to "skappetti". The fact that I'm not too sleepy, I got up anyway.

Sophia 4/365: Wake me up when you're sleeping

After a few spoons of angel hair and 3 Famous Amos cookies, she was energized. She was getting loud once in awhile like it was daytime playtime. While she was getting more active, I was wasting away. In all honesty, I was more concerned about my 365. Didn't I mentioned about discipline and nighttime curfew on my previous blog? H-e-l-l-o-!!!

So, there we were in the great room with the tv on. The bummer was her tv shows were not available. On Demand was not even ready yet. Odd, I thought. There probably was something wrong with cable. Anyway... We were viewing the Kardashians and Rob was jittery and crying over Adrian. Yeah, replay. After that a rerun of Girls Next Door where Holly and her BFFS were holding an girly audition in Chicago. LOL! Talk about parental control. My head was too tired and achy to do my motherly job.
