My battle with the cold becomes an unexpected feat...

On Wednesday and Friday nights, Lance plays Magic Cards and I always go with him because I hate being alone. It sounds pathetic, I know. But with these three things - shop, dine and/or sleep in the car - look already promising to me.
Last Wednesday night, I woke up chilly. It was uncomfortably cold that I had to turn Amber's engine on and drive around. I think it was around 10pm. While most Virginians were snugly tucked in their beds on midweek evenings, I was circling aimlessly on an almost empty parking lot. Life would have been better if I was on a merry-go-round. At least, I not only went around. I went up-down as well and broke the humdrum.
Lance was determined to have another game. Call me crazy but I did want to go, ok! Besides, he wanted me to be there, too... At least, on the parking lot. (Whewww! What a scornful pity!) To counter the cold, we shopped for a set of thermal clothes and the coziest socks ever on Thursday night. (I haven't seen any thermal socks and gloves so far. Any tip out there?) Target was our target. And after "targeting", we were quite excited and ready for tomorrow's event.
The very next night, I donned my armor - thermals and a set of coordinating sports suit from Mom. After the usual light dinner with my football-loving housemates, I readied my third layer of clothing. It was my favorite little-red-riding-hood fleece. My pink socks completed my get-up, which shouted, "I am so ready!"
On the Turnpike lot, I bid goodluck to Lance and myself. I hoped that Lance wins his card game as I "successfully battle" the cold. (Whewww, for the second time!) This time, I did not choose to shop anymore. I thought of paying attention to my three new Marie Claire mags that remain unread until this night.
Hours passed, still flipping the fashion pages, I noticed it was not getting any colder. (Whewww! That was my third. Wat-da-fuh..!) I felt ridiculously clothed during this unexpected warm weather. Lance was playing his cards while Virginia was playing on me. My goodness! ("Ang init moooooooooooo!!!") (You are soooooooooooo hot!)
It was warm inside Amber but I never wanted to put the windows down for privacy's sake. Thank GOD for a substitue... Whosoever invented the moon roof, thanks to you, too!
